Description[]

Kallastin Sallerov, a.k.a. Kallas is a Tiefling rogue played by Ben MacDonald in season four and six.

Kallas has pale skin and 4 small horns that protrude from his forehead. This has allowed him to more easily disguise his infernal heritage… from afar at least. He generally wears a tricorn hat such that the brim makes it difficult to notice his horns except from up close. In addition, he wears leather armor and a coat (both made from wyvern leather), which served as his uniform while he was an investigator in the city watch in T’eumar. His most strikingly bizarre feature though (not counting his tail) are his orange eyes that almost seem to glow like embers in a fire.

He's 5'10" tall.

Kobold bodied Kallas: He's a white little dragon man with wings and the same eyes as the tiefling version.

Biography[]

Backstory[]

Kallas (Born Kallastin Sallerov) was raised on an island with two non-tiefling parents (presumed to be adopted because there is no tiefling heritage in his family’s bloodline) on a wyvern farm. His parents were said to be racist towards him, so bad that he presumed they were scared of him. He has an older sister and an older brother who he doesn’t know too well because of the age separation. He was close friends as a child with Tinker Gildrop. He said that when he was an adult he worked as an investigator for the city until he eventually left when he heard of Tinker Gildrop’s death.

he speaks of his childhood on episode 232 - Back Again

On the podcast[]

Kallas arrives in Bryce’s landing because that is where Tinker Gildrop’s body is being held and he is told that he can not retrieve the body until their investigation of his death is done. He then meets the party and joins up with them to make money and bide time while he waits, figuring that he might find some clues to Tinker’s death on the way. He becomes close with the members of the party, more specifically Brenna Littlefoot. After their first dungeon he returns and is able to see Tinker’s corpse but it was replaced by the form of a female and Kallas is confused by this. After he is able to establish the cause of death better than the Medical Examiner, Kallas assumes that they are just incompetent. He returns to the party, only fully confiding in Brenna for comfort. He again figures that he can find clues as he travels with the group. Brenna soon asks Kallas to come with her to a temple in Silver Strings when they get there and she shows him her ritual to contact her ancestors. After Brenna’s death, Kallas is especially sad as he was closest to her and brings her body to the temple in Silver Strings and prays to her elders like he thought she would have liked. He is then confronted by a goddess who feels bad and gives him a piece of her fae wing and when he breaks it, he will have feather falling. Kallas vows to save her, and or revive her. Someone has been stealing souls so he intends to save hers, or, at least with what he knows, she was calling for help when Cyrus tried to paint her and got a message from Asmodeus. Later on, in another dungeon, Kallas is forced to play on the skeleton keyboard and after failing at playing Kallas was disintegrated in a trap and was later reincarnated as a kobold by Grifto, he was later returned to his original form by Jazirian. While relaxing in Jazirian dungeon after beating it and speaking with the goddess, Kallas receives a letter from the supposed dead, Tinker Gildrop. It tells Kallas to meet him in the Rainbow Desert. Kallas is skeptical but they have to go check so they do. It is him and he requires a favor to help get a magical oil lamp that contains a Jin named Ishtaks. They get to the dungeon and complete it, but before they get the lamp, Tinker tries to use it to force the party to stay in the lamp. They refuse and fight the Jin. Tinker though, is pushed off the side by some mysterious force and Kallas plummets after him to catch him and use his fae wing feather fall to save the both of them. Kallas is confused to why he would try to stop them, but stops any of the party when they say to kill him. He is determined to help Tinker. Many people believe or ship Tinker and Kallas, including the players and the player characters. The next time Kallas is majorly in the story is when Tinker attacks them again and Kallas saves him from being killed by Asmodeus by making a deal with Asmodeus himself. Cam noted that before Kallas made the deal with Asmodeus, he would marry him in Date, Marry, Kill. In the final battle with Asmodeus, Kallas is required to do a favor for Asmodeus, to kill Boone. Kallas refuses and walks up to Boone instead, slides a final letter into her pocket and whispers, “Save Brenna” before his neck is snapped by Asmodeus.

Retirement

Kallas died after succumbing to demonic magic when he refused to kill Boone per a demonic contract. Only to be mysteriously brought back to life in season 6.
